Naval Station Everett (NAVSTA Everett) is a military installation located in the city of Everett, Washington, approximately 25 miles north of Seattle. NAVSTA Everett is located on the city’s waterfront on the northeastern end of Puget Sound. It opened in 1994 and was designed as a homeport for a U.S. Navy Carrier Strike Group. NAVSTA Everett is home to five guided-missile Destroyers, a Coast Guard Keeper-class cutter USCGC Henry Blake, and a USCG Marine Protector-class patrol boat, USCGC Blue Shark.
A separate Navy Support Complex is located in Smokey Point, 11 miles north of Everett near Marysville. The complex includes a commissary, Navy Exchange store, gas station, family service center, thrift shop, education offices, Bachelor Officer Quarters, craft shop/gear issue, chapel and religious education center, an auto hobby shop, ball fields and courts, fleet parking for personnel assigned to deployed Everett-based ships, and a 50-room Navy Lodge. The campus serves more than 30,000 personnel and families in Western Washington.
There are about 9,500 sailors, civil service persons, and retirees assigned to Naval Station Everett. The Naval Station itself has about 450 sailors and civilians.
If you are planning on flying into SEATAC Airport, please note that Naval Station Everett is about 45 miles north of the airport and the Smokey Point Navy Support Complex is 11 miles north of the Base. It is strongly recommended that you make local transportation arrangements through your sponsor, gaining command or commercial means before arriving at SEATAC Airport. If you arrive at SEATAC Airport and have no transportation arrangements and cannot pay for transportation, please visit the USO on the second deck of the main terminal of the SEATAC airport for assistance. This is a full service USO, with showers, sleeping area, lounge, computer/internet, food, reading material and more.

Public Bus transportation is available via Everett Transit. The bus pick-up and drop-off at Naval Station Everett is just outside of the Base main gate.
If you have not been assigned a sponsor, you should contact your future command Sponsor Coordinator. This information should be on your orders. Having a sponsor can make this relocation experience less stressful plus they can provide you with information specific to you and your family’s needs.
Newly arriving personnel reporting to Naval Station Everett must check in with the station Quarter Deck, available 24/7/365, located in building 2000 at the Naval Station, phone number 425-304-3366 or DSN 312-727-3366. Sailors attached to NAVSTA will have their orders stamped and be directed to the Training Office which is located on the 3rd deck.
Sailors attached to a ship will be sent directly to the ship for check-in. If the ship is not in port at the time of check-in you will be assigned to a Temporary Personnel Unit, TPU until your ship arrives or until transportation to your ship has been arranged. Single Sailors will most likely be provided a room in the BEQ, (425-304-3402); married with no children may stay at the Gateway Inn visitor quarters, (877-628-9233); families with pets and/or children may stay at the Navy Lodge (800-NAVY-INN). It is strongly suggested that you make reservations for temporary quarters early in your trip planning to ensure you have a place to stay upon arrival. Your Sponsor may be able to assist you with this.
The FFSC can provide information and assistance with issues that relocating personnel face. Start on the right foot by getting connected with the FFSC, conveniently located next to the Base Quarterdeck in Building 2000, Room 133, or at the Smokey Point Complex Room 857. HIGH RISK CATEGORY SERVICE MEMBERS should CONTACT the Fleet and Family Support Center Relocation Specialist BEFORE ARRIVAL if possible, or IMMEDIATELY AFTER ARRIVAL. Service Members in a HIGH RISK CATEGORY are:
E-1 to E-4 with dependents; Any service member, enlisted or officer, married less than 1 1/2 years (especially those married enroute); Any Service Member reporting to a Duty Assignment for the FIRST TIME; Any Service Member (single or married) moving off-base for the first time; Any Service Member in financial difficulties.

To be enrolled in a Washington school, a child must be at least 5 years old on or before August 31st. State law doesn’t require that students enroll in school until they’re 8, so parents can keep them at home or in child-care programs for an additional year or more. Check with the school for other requirements.

Naval Air Station Whidbey Island’s government housing has been converted to Public Private Venture and is optional. There are currently over 1,500 housing units available. Maylor Point and Forbes Point Housing are the only housing areas located onboard the installation on the Seaplane Base. All other housing areas are located on government property with the majority located just outside the Seaplane Base. Whidbey Apartments are located just outside the main base. Wait times vary according to bedroom entitlement and availability of units within each zoned area. Call the Housing Services Center, at 360-257-3331, for availability. Skyline living is all about views and proximity to the water. Living within the Skyline Community of Anacortes allows residents access to two beautiful clubhouses – one cabana on the ocean. In addition, the planned community of Skyline has a marina for boats, multiple green spaces, and a private sandy beach! Active residents will enjoy easy access to Anacortes trails nearby!
In Everett, the summers are short, warm, and partly cloudy and the winters are very cold, wet, and mostly cloudy. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 36°F to 77°F and is rarely below 26°F or above 87°F.
The warm season lasts for 2.8 months, from June 22 to September 16, with an average daily high temperature above 71°F. The hottest day of the year is August 3, with an average high of 77°F and low of 56°F. The cool season lasts for 3.3 months, from November 13 to February 24, with an average daily high temperature below 52°F. The coldest day of the year is December 23, with an average low of 36°F and high of 45°F.
The wetter season lasts 6.7 months, from October 10 to April 30, with a greater than 35% chance of a given day being a wet day. The chance of a wet day peaks at 60% on November 18. The drier season lasts 5.4 months, from April 30 to October 10. The smallest chance of a wet day is 10% on August 1.
