To be enrolled in a Virginia school, a child must be at least 5 years old by September 30th.  Check with the school for other requirements. 
To register a child for school you should take the following to the school office: an official certified copy of the birth certificate (not a photocopy) or a sworn statement of the child’s age with an explanation of why the certified birth certificate cannot be provided; the child’s street address; and the three-part School Entrance Health Form (MCH 213F) completed by a licensed physician, nurse practitioner or physician’s assistant, indicating that the child has had a full physical exam within the past 12 months.

​There are two school systems serving Langley AFB. Main base
housing residents attend Hampton City Schools, with 36 schools
and approximately 23,000 students. For main base there are one
elementary, one middle, and one high school serving as primary
feeder schools. The nearby Bethel Manor housing area residents
attend York County Schools, with 19 schools and approximately
13,000 students. Bethel Manor residents are serviced by two
elementary, two middle and two high schools, depending on
where you live in Bethel Manor.
