Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling is a 1,018-acre military installation, located in Southwest, Washington, D.C., situated between the Potomac and Anacostia rivers, off of Interstate 295 in the Anacostia and Congress Heights areas. The installation was established on October 1, 2010 in accordance with the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure Commission. The legislation ordered the consolidation of Naval Support Facility Anacostia (NSF) and Bolling Air Force Base (BAFB).
Joint Base Anacostia–Bolling is responsible for providing installation support to 17,000 military, civilian employees and their families, 48 mission and tenant units, including ceremonial units, various Army, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Joint Service commands and other DOD and federal agencies.
Bolling Air Force Base units also provide ceremonial support to the White House, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Secretary of the Air Force, and the Air Force Chief of Staff, mainly through 11th Wing, the United States Air Force Honor Guard and The United States Air Force Band.
United States Coast Guard Station Washington is a United States Coast Guard station located on Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling. Officially commissioned on September 23, 2003, Station Washington became the newest station on the Coast Guard’s roster of small boat stations. The unit’s mission is to deter, detect, and defend against terrorism attacks against the National Capital Region.

Soldiers arriving for in-processing at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling should report to their command first. Once checked in with your orders endorsed, Navy personnel will report to PSD located in Enterprise Hall and Air Force personnel will report to MPF located in Building 16. Uniforms should be worn during in-processing.
