Marine Corps Intelligence Headquarters is located in Arlington, Virginia at the Pentagon , and is an element of the United States Intelligence Community. The Intelligence Department is responsible for policy, plans, programming, budgets, and staff supervision of Intelligence and supporting activities within the Unites States Marine Corps. The Department supports the Commandant of the Marine Corps (CMC) in his role as a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), represents the service in Joint and Intelligence Community matters, and exercises supervision over the Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA). The Department has Service Staff responsibility for Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT), Advanced Geospatial Intelligence (AGI), Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), Human Intelligence (HUMINT), Counterintelligence (CI), and ensures there is a single synchronized strategy for the development of the Marine Corps Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Enterprise.
The Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA) is a field activity headquarters of the United States Marine Corps, and a member of both the Defense Intelligence Agency and the United States Intelligence Community. It is the Intelligence Support and Coordination Center for the Marine Corps Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Enterprise. MCIA produces all-source intelligence, provides intelligence services, and conducts intelligence and counterintelligence operations in support of current and future operations and force development. MCIA’s Enterprise Operations Center is the Marine Corps’ 24/7 single point of access for all-source intelligence reach-back support. MCIA is comprised of the service intelligence center, CI/HUMINT Support Company and the Marine Cryptologic Support Battalion (MCSB). MCIA headquarters is located in Quantico, Virginia, while MCSB headquarters is at Fort Meade, Maryland.

Military personnel arriving for in-processing at the Pentagon should report to the Pentagon during week days and show their Armed Forces identification card. Bring a copy of your most recent physical exam as well as the security clearance verification memo. Once checked in, proceed to the HQDA Security Office in Room 1B912 to validate your forms. Military personnel will be required to process through multiple departments to get familiarity with the facility. The Class B duty uniform should be worn during in-processing. All Marine Corps personnel reporting to Quantico during normal working hours will report in to the Installation Personnel Administration Center (IPAC) located on the second deck of Building 2006, Hawkins Avenue, (Headquarters & Service Battalion Building). The Installation Personnel Administration Center phone number is (703) 784-4479. Upon reporting in, IPAC will provide initial administrative check-in assistance including personnel record updates, Original Orders Endorsements, Travel Claims, Unit Diary and Assignment to the Welcome Aboard Briefing. After completing IPAC check-in, personnel are turned over to their assigned Battalion/ Squadron level Headquarters for issuance of their Check-in Sheets and further in-processing.
If you arrive after normal working hours:
All Marines must check-in with the Headquarters and Service Battalion duty officer in Building 2006, Mainside. The duty will endorse your orders and provide temporary lodging to all sergeants and below until the next workday. SNCOs and officers requiring lodging will be directed to Liversedge Hall, 15 Liversedge Drive, for lodging. If lodging is not available at Liversedge, you must obtain a non-availability statement from the Liversedge staff prior to going to a hotel.
All incoming Marines to Fort Meade should report to their individual Commands/units and sponsor for your branch specific orientation. Each branch of military has their own reporting in and after hours procedures; please let your Command and Sponsor know when you are arriving and where you are staying. Fort Meade is a large post and bus transportation is very limited on post. Incoming personnel will need a vehicle to get around on post. There are no car rental agencies on Fort Meade, but many car rentals agencies are available at the Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.
