Coast Guard station two rivers

Ninth District

13 East Street, Two Rivers, Wisconsin 54241
Coast Guard Anchors

Coast Guard Station Two Rivers is located on the west side of Lake Michigan. The primary missions of this station are Search and Rescue, Law Enforcement, and Ice Rescue (during the winter season). Typically, this station oversees about 30 Search and Rescue operations and 200 Law Enforcement Boardings each year. Approximately, 19 service members are currently assigned to USCG Station Two Rivers.

Established in 1877, CG Station Two Rivers was first created as a part of the U.S. Life Saving Service. Since that time, the unit has been housed in three different structures. The current building, located on 13 E. Street, was built in 1940 and was closed in 1980 due to budgetary reasons. After undergoing major renovations, it was re-opened in 1987 and is now billeted for 16 personnel. Additionally, this station has two assets that are used for missions: the 25-ft. Response Boat Small and the 45-ft. Response Boat Medium.

In 2008, when Aids to Navigation (ANT) Green Bay was decommissioned, Station Two Rivers became a Stations/Aids to Navigation (STANT). During the summer of 2016, the station was separated from the ANT and ANT Two Rivers was commissioned. This change allowed the Coast Guard to better staff, train, and equip boats and crews continuing to serve the Two Rivers area.

Wisconsin State Statutes (118.14(1)(a)) specify that children are eligible for kindergarten based on their age. To be eligible for 4-year old kindergarten, a child must be 4 by September 1 of the school year. To be eligible for 5-year old kindergarten, a child must be 5 by September 1 of the school year. Placement is not based on a child’s ability, but rather will be determined by age. Compulsory school age in Wisconsin is 6 years, so legally, parents do not have to enroll their 5-year old in kindergarten. However, the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction encourages parents to send their children to kindergarten when they are age-eligible.
