Aids to Navigation Team Two Rivers, a part of the 9th Coast Guard District, includes 10 knowledgeable and efficient team crew members, who serve from the Indiana State Line to Escanaba and the entire Western shore of Lake Michigan; each crew member is mindful of and understands the dangers of the weather conditions that can change quickly on the Great Lakes. In addition, the highly skilled personnel are trained to perform routine maintenance on the tall towers and structures (sometimes up to 100 feet), including lighthouses located in the area.
Regular maintenance and inspection of all of the area’s assets are performed by the highly trained Petty Officers, Firemen and Seamen, who are considered the backbone of unit operations. Their continued dedication and expertise keep the Coast Guards boats Fully Mission Capable and provide safety and protection for those living in the area.

FOR THE CHILDRENWisconsin State Statutes (118.14(1)(a)) specify that children are eligible for kindergarten based on their age. To be eligible for 4-year old kindergarten, a child must be 4 by September 1 of the school year. To be eligible for 5-year old kindergarten, a child must be 5 by September 1 of the school year. Placement is not based on a child’s ability, but rather will be determined by age. Compulsory school age in Wisconsin is 6 years, so legally, parents do not have to enroll their 5-year old in kindergarten. However, the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction encourages parents to send their children to kindergarten when they are age-eligible.
