EDUCATION

FOR THE CHILDREN
In Miami, students must be 5 years old on or before September 1st. Kindergarten is not mandatory. Compulsory school age is 6 years old. Early entry rules are not specified in the state statute. Kindergarten assessment screenings are required within the first 30 days of each school year.
