The Coast Guard Station Cape Disappointment community is in Ilwaco, Washington. Ilwaco is a city in Pacific County, Washington, United States. The population is approximately 936 and the city is located on the southern edge of the Long Beach Peninsula, on the north bank of the Columbia River where it meets the Pacific Ocean. It is near the city of Astoria, Oregon, which lies to the southeast on the southern bank of the Columbia.


Cape Disappointment State Park offers beautiful scenery of the Washington Coastline, walking tails, and cabins for overnight guests. Stop at Deadman’s Cove along the hike to Cape Disappointment Lighthouse because the beautiful spot is worth the climb down! Cape Disappointment Lighthouse is manned by the Coast Guard and offers spectacular views of the Columbia River flowing into the Pacific.


The area also has museums, shopping areas, restaurants, parks, and a wild life refuge.
