Blackstone is a small town in rural Nottoway County, Virginia.  The area has many historical sites dating back to revolutionary times, including Schwartz Tavern and Robert Thomas Carriage Museum.  Main Street is a historic district filled with wonderful restaurants and quaint shops.

 

For outdoor fun, visit the Adventure Park at Sandy River Retreat in nearby Farmville, VA.  Richmond, Virginia is about an hours drive north and offers all the amenities expected of a big city,  including museums, restaurants, shopping areas, parks, and cultural events.
