The Fort Devens area is mostly rural residential, however the region is surrounded by the larger cities of Worcester, Fitchburg, and Leominster.  The Boston Metropolitan area is only 35 miles east of Fort Devens.  The area offers a small town, rural atmosphere with apple orchards and quiet countryside.
